Ocushield on Dragons’ Den
A pair of optometrists join Peter Jones, Taj Lalvani, Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman on Thursday 1st July’s episode of Dragons’ Den to pitch their business idea – Ocushield.
Dhruvin Patel and Asad Hamir presented Ocushield blue light blockers to the Dragons in hopes that they would be successful.
Ocushield is a medically-rated anti blue light company which produces products such as filtered glasses, screen protectors, lights and more.
Dhruvin developed the business as part of a university competition that started with a dissertation, leading to a research project and resulting in the products Ocushield sell today.
Since then, Dhruvin has qualified as an optometrist and won over 152,342 customers.
During the episode, Tej Lalvani took to Twitter to share his interest in the product.
Eventually, the pair of Dragons teamed up to invest in Ocushield.

What is blue light and why is it harmful?
So, what is blue light and why do we need to limit our eyes from it?
Light with blue wavelengths is everywhere, from sunlight to lighting at home and digital devices.
Ocushield explained the effects of too much blue light causing eye strain, fatigue, headaches, dry eyes and blurry vision.
This can also impact your sleep since light makes you feel more alert and, therefore, less sleepy.
Blue light prevents the production of melatonin which is the hormone that makes you sleepy.
So, thats where Ocushield comes in to help!
