The competition is judged by two judges – Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

Esme Young’s Career
In the 1980’s Esme along with three friends started fashion brand and shop Swanky Modes in Camden, London.
She opened her own design studio in the mid 80’s and went on to produce clothing for many films and adverts.
Esme created clothes for the 2001 film Bridget Jones’s Diary including the famous bunny costume!
Esme’s career took a different course and in 2016 when she replaced ex Sewing Bee judge May Martin on The Great British Sewing Bee.
Now, she’s back for series 5 alongside Patrick Grant.
Esme Young Height
When judging the competition alongside massively tall Patrick Green, Esme looks tiny.
The 70-year-old said to Yours: “He’s very tall and I’m very small,” says Esme. Patrick added: “We are literally looking from different perspectives. I see the high-up bits and she sees the low-down bits.”
Patrick stands at 1.9m tall (6 ft 2) and we would estimate that Esme stands at around 1.5 m tall (5 ft).
Esme on Instagram
Esme is on Instagram as @miss_esme_young.
She has over 3,000 followers on Instagram and often reposts work from her ex-student Ashish.
Indian born British designer Ashish has 200,000 followers.
Is Esme Young Married?
Considering that Esme has made a point of her Instagram handle being ‘Miss’ Esme Young, we would guess that she’s not married.
Her Instagram page is mainly made up of fashion posts but there are a couple of photos of Esme with family and friends.
She may have a love interest but it doesn’t look like Esme’s tied the knot.
Nowadays Esme splits her time between sewing, presenting The Sewing Bee and teaching pattern cutting at Central Saint Martin’s College, London.
Esme’s fashion brand Swanky Modes was worn by many A-Listers including Cher and Grace Jones, now she passes on her knowledge to students on the prestigious fashion course.
