Ping on Masterchef

Ping decided to apply for the 10th series of Masterchef after she was made redundant.

She was born in Ipoh, Malaysia.

In 2014 Ping was crowned champion of Masterchef after impressing the judges with her Malaysian-inspired dishes.

In 2019 she returned as a judge on series 15 of Masterchef alongside two other previous Masterchef winners Alex Jorge and Thomasina Miers.

What Does Ping do Now?

Since winning Masterchef UK in 2014 Ping went on to open Ping Pan-Asian, a contemporary Pan-Asian restaurant and delicatessen in 2018.

Ping Pan-Asian serves a modern take on Malaysian-Chinese street food and is based in Selfridges in London.

Ping Pan-Asian also has a deli-counter in The Trafford Centre, Manchester.

As well as launching her own successful restaurant under Selfridges, Ping released a book in 2016, ‘Malaysia: Recipes from a Family Kitchen‘ which you can buy on Amazon for around £12.
