How do The Great British Sewing Bee Christmas specials work?

The Great British Sewing Bee is a spin-off of the format of The Great British Bake Off.

The programme is presented by the comedian Joe Lycett and normally casts ten amateur sewers, with the weakest eliminated each episode.

The festive edition of The Great British Sewing Bee, instead of amateurs, casts celebrities of the country.

Then, they take on three challenges set by judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

The first challenge is the pattern challenge, where the celebs will have to make a pair of festive pyjamas bottoms.

Afterwards, there is the transformation task, where celebs will have to create a festive fancy dress outfit for a dog.

In the final task, celebs will be required to make a perfectly fitted dress for Christmas Day.
