The Great British Sewing Bee is back and series 7 of the show has brought with it and exciting change of location.
Like always, 12 talented sewers will be competing head to head to show off their skills and try their hand at the weekly challenges.
In the first episode, which came out on Wednesday 14th, we saw Patrick and Esme settling the contestants in with challenges based on everyday wardrobe staples.
Speaking about this year’s group of contestants, Joe Lycett called them a “real mixed bag.” The contestants are: Adam, Lawratu, Julie, Cathryn, Damien, Farie, Andrew, Rebecca, Jean, Adeena, Raph, Serena.
Where is the Great British Sewing Bee 2021 filmed?
The 2021 series of the Great British Sewing Bee is filmed at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London’s Docklands.
Previous locations of the show include Bermondsey to the south of the Thames and Metropolitan Wharf in Wapping, London.
Speaking about the location, judge Patrick Grant said:
“It was a real joy to spend time there. We’d come onto the set just before 7am every day and the sunrises and sunsets were amazing.”
“Having that wonderful vista across the River Thames from the sewing room, can’t help but inspire the sewers. It was a spectacular place to shoot.”
Patrick also shared his excitement over the show’s return on his Twitter account, where he tweeted: “I’d had the most hellish six months of my life. Then I got on set with Joe and Esme and this year’s adorable contestants and all the bad things just went away. Hope you had as much fun watching it as we had making it.”
When is the Great British Sewing Bee on TV?
The Great British Sewing Bee will be on BBC One at 9pm every Wednesday.

The first episode aired on Wednesday 14th and the contestants tried their hand at the first Pattern Challenge where they had to create a classic sleeveless blouse known as a shell top.
For the Transformation Challenge, the sewers had to turn old t-shirts into completely new garments in just 90 minutes.
