Meet Cindy Challoner…
Cindy is a 29-year-old chef who is originally from a small town in Wales called Aberaeron.
After leaving home, she began her foodie journey by studying catering at Coleg Ceredigion in Aberystwyth.
At first she was chef de partie at The Fig Tree in Penarth and then Cindy was at The Thistle for two and a half years.
But it was working her way up from sous chef to head chef at one of Cardiff’s fine-dining restaurants that Cindy found her stride.
Where does Cindy work?
She currently works at The Classroom, a unique restaurant with a focus on training up young chefs with some of the finest industry professionals.
Even her fellow Great British Menu contestant Tom Westerland received his culinary training there!
But she has since stepped down from her position as head chef there.
The restaurant is situated in the heart of the Welsh capital, on the top floor of Cardiff and Vale College’s landmark £45m City Centre Campus.
