Forged in Fire returned for its new series with new host Grady Powell – is he on Instagram?
The History Channel series kicked off its eight season on Wednesday, November 18th.
Since its premiere in 2015, Forged in Fire has seen a number of masterpiece creations, as well as catastrophic weapon failures.
The reality show returned with a new cast of contestants who compete to recreate the best historical edged weapons.
But who is the show’s new presenter Grady Powell? He is a familiar face from the telly so let’s get to know him better, including age, career and Instagram.
Who is Grady Powell?
Grady Powell is 33 years old. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.
He enrolled at the University of Missouri but dropped out in 2007 to join the US Army. Grady has served in the Middle East and Africa.
In 2009, he received the title ‘Green Beret’ which is given to soldiers who have graduated from their training and are part of the US Army Special Forces, referred to as ‘Green Berets’.
After leaving the Army, Grady went on a backpacking tour in Europe where he travelled across different countries for a few months.
His first TV appearance was on the reality series Stars Earn Stripes. Some of his other stints are on American Grit, Dual Survival and Ultimate Survival Alaska.

Grady Powell: Family
Grady is married to wife Meg Powell.
Based on Grady’s Instagram pics, he and Meg have been together for a few years. They got married in November 2019 and recently celebrated their first anniversary.
Grady and Meg are expecting their first child so congrats to the couple!
