What happened in Celebrity SAS?
In the fifth and final episode of Celebrity SAS episode 5, Victoria made it to the very last few recruits.
She, Aj Odudu, Jeff Brazier and Wayne Bridge were the last remaining contestants, although it was Wayne who emerged as the winner.
Although Victoria flourished in most of the physical challenges, it was the harsh and honest interrogations that had the SAS instructors believing that she was a weak link.

After admitting that her greatest disappointment was to win two gold medals and not three, the teary-eyed 38-year-old was put on the spot as the interrogator asked: “What, you wouldn’t say your marriage?”
Vic explained how her marriage broke down, admitting that it was her fault: “Because I chose to do silly sports instead of putting someone else first.”
In a separate segment, Vic added:
As an athlete, you have to be incredibly single-minded and focus on yourself – to the detriment of your relationships, your family. It’s really selfish, actually.

Who was Victoria Pendleton married to?
Victoria married her former Team GB coach, Scott Gardner, in 2013.
The two met while training for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where Victoria won her first-ever Olympic gold in the Women’s Sprint event.
Scott and Vic enjoyed a strong 10 years together, and five years married, before filing for divorce in 2018.
At the time, Victoria addressed the issue on Twitter with a statement:
Despite our best efforts in trying to make our marriage work, we have come to the decision to go our separate ways. It has been an extremely difficult time and a tough decision to make.
We want to look ahead to the future and stay positive. We would both gratefully appreciate our privacy being respected as we navigate what is a deeply personal time for us.
Why did Victoria and Scott break up?
Up to this point, Victoria had never openly spoken about the break-up.
It was rumoured that the professional/romance balance between the pair was always under scrutiny, with Scott initially asked to leave Team GB in 2008, although he was later re-hired.
The most info we have is from the final Celebrity SAS episode, where Victoria said that the breakdown of their marriage was her fault, adding that it was her drive to put sport first that may have caused the breakdown.
