If you tuned into the first episode of the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox last night then I’m sure your Friday night was full of laughter, tears and a rollercoaster of emotions.

With the likes of Eamonn and Ruth Holmes, Martin and Roman Kemp and Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon gracing our screens, it was definitely a night to remember.

But a lot of viewers have been confused about one particular person that appeared alongside the popular British stand-up comedian Mo Gilligan.

Who is Babatunde Aleshe?

The person sitting two metres away from Mo Gilligan, abiding by the social distancing rules of course, was Babatunde Aleshe.

Babatunde is an actor, writer and comedian. He appeared in Eastenders back in 1985, as well as New Tricks in 2003.

Babatunde is now a comedian

More recently, he has left his acting career in the past and moved into the world of comedy, touring around Britain doing stand up shows.

 

He recently won Best Newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards and has performed at venues such as the O2 and the Hackney Empire.

His shows are often based on his experiences of growing up in London.

Babatunde Aleshe spoke about his Gogglebox appearance on Twitter!

Babatunde seemed rather excited about his Gogglebox appearance, tweeting a series of posts onto his Twitter account.

First he said “tonight’s the night!” with a series of hands up emoji’s. Then later on, he used the hashtag #CelebrityGogglebox and posted a series of fire emoji’s.

And finally, he reacted to a video clip with yes, you guessed it, more hands up and fire emoji’s!
