Shareen Geers was matched to a stranger by relationship experts, who she then married. Meet the Channel 4 star from Married At First Sight!
Series 5 of the UK’s version of Married At First Sight sees Shareen paired with David, who she married just moments after first laying eyes on him.
We then see the couple, who are the oldest to go on the show, go through an experiment to see if they are truly made for one another. We found out everything you need to know about one half of the pair – meet Shareen!
Who is Shareen Geer?
Shareen is a 48-year-old mother from South Africa. She has three daughters.
She moved to Llanelli in Wales and now has her own events management business, as well as a career in property entrepreneur.
She has never been married before, so the show was her first time officially tying the knot. However since Married At First Sight first aired, Shareen has revealed that she wasn’t prepared for the online abuse she has received.
She told Wales Online: “The ones that really hurt the most were calling me an embarrassment as a mother and how ashamed my daughters must be to have me as a mum. Shareen added:
Luckily I have given my daughters the tools to understand these comments are from strangers and to not take them to heart, but disregarding my sole purpose in life to be the best mum I can be broke me for a couple of days.

She was matched with David, who is a 56-year-old sales director and father-of-two from Solihull. He was previously married for 10 years.
Although it looked like couple shared similar hobbies and got along at first, Shareen didn’t seem too impressed when he brought massage oil, burning scents and a 30-strong pack of condoms with him on their honeymoon.
David has since revealed that him and Shareen split shortly after filming for Married At First Sight.
