Howard Evans is one of the architects who put his skills into practice on the latest Ugly House to Lovely House episode.
The Channel 4 show sees George Clarke transform homes across the UK from, well, ugly to lovely places to live.
Along the way, he hires architects to help out. During the episode on Thursday October 29th, Howard Evans and Prue Chiles are given the job.
So who is Howard? Read on to find out all about the architect’s background!
Meet Howard Evans
Howard is an architect who has worked in the industry since he graduated university in 2001.
He is also a university teacher and director of the dual architecture and landscape architecture programmes at the University of Sheffield.
He is a director at Chiles Evans and Care Architects, which he established with colleagues Prue – who he appears alongside on Ugly House to Lovely House – and Leo in 2015.
Before this, Howard was an Associate Director at Prue Chiles Architects for 14 years where he led The Knitter’s House, for which he was named RIBA Yorkshire Architect of the Year 2015.

Howard Evans on Ugly House to Lovely House
Howard appears on the Channel 4 series on Thursday October 29th to work on an inter-war semi-detached house in Sheffield.
Despite a difficult construction period during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project is now complete.
This isn’t the first time that Howard has appeared on Ugly House to Lovely House, as he led the award-winning Artemis Barn and the Nottingham Mews House projects on series 2 of the show.
