The Bridge is back for a 2020 round as 12 strangers build an 850-ft bridge to get their hands on a £100,000 cash prize.
Imagine having to work as a team with 11 people that you barely know, with the clock ticking along the way. Just 20 days are given to the cast of the Channel 4 series to build the bridge, in return for the bundle of cash.
They definitely don’t want to make any enemies!
However the real question is, who will be taking part in this year’s series of the ultimate challenge? Meet the cast!
Billie is Trisha Goddard’s daughter
Contestant Billie is a 30-year-old publicist from London.
Five years ago, Billie went through the “darkest period of her life” and her drug and alcohol addiction spiralled. Now that she is clean and sober, Billie has become an advocate for addiction and mental health issues.
She said her mum is apprehensive about her joining the show, but also “encouraging”.

Meet travel-goer Maura
Hotel entertainer and fitness instructor Maura is a 20-year-old from County Kildare, Ireland.
She describes herself as “extremely competitive” and was on the Irish National Tennis team at the age of 8.
Maura admits her upbringing was privileged, however she recently lost her job due to Covid-19.
Levi is a restaurant manager
The 29-year-old from Wolverhampton describes himself as “ruthless” after being hurt in the past by an ex.
Levi said that he’s “sick of being underestimated by straight men who don’t consider him a rival”, adding that he hasn’t joined the Channel 4 show to make friends.
He wants to win the money and put it towards a property and and a surrogate, so he can have a child.

Who is Dominique?
Dominique is a Manchester-born 21-year-old studying politics and international relations. She loves conservatism and describes herself as a “natural leader”.
Her dad died when she was a baby and she was brought up her mother.
I can’t stand people that are fake, people that brag and people that pretend to be something they’re not. Because, for me, I can see through it straight away.
Tara is a Covid-19 survivor
Tara is a 39-year-old married woman from London. The waitress and spray tan beautician contracted coronavirus in March and spent nine days in ICU, believing she was very close to death.
Having been addicted to drink and drugs at 21, Tara took herself to rehab, got clean, began taking control over her life and is now married with two daughters.
She describes herself as a “strong-minded superwoman” who “hates to follow what is acceptable”.
Sly is a carer to his 90-year-old mum
London-born Sly is a 60-year-old car fabricator. He is married and the oldest cast member!
He lost his son to a brain aneurysm, which has made him realise that life is too short to waste on being angry.
Sly spoke of why he joined the show:
I’m 60 years of age and if anybody comes and asks you, “Would you like to give so-and-so a go?” I will turn round and say, “Hell yeah, why not?”
Meet Dreamboys stripper Zac
Zac started performing on the Dreamboys Tour in September 2019 as a stripper.
The 26-year-old from Surrey is in a relationship, and is a trained dancer and acrobat!
He’s a “massive flirt” and says he can’t help it as it’s “literally his job”.
Meet plumber Luke
Luke is a 26-year-old single man from Doncaster. He’s also a part-time model!
During his childhood, he experienced homelessness and lived in a tent under a bridge with his mum and his sister for a time.
Recently single after a two-year relationship, he goes to the gym twice a day, six days a week.
Meet Greggs fanatic Rowan
Rowan said he would splash the winning cash on Greggs sausage roles…
He’s a 22-year-old single graduate from Fife, as well as a camp counsellor and extreme sports instructor in America. Rowan describes himself as “confident with the gift of the gab”.
Last year, he came out to his family and friends as bisexual. As he tries to find work during Covid-19, he has entered the show for the “bragging rights”.
Paddleboarder Sarah is 2nd in the UK
Sarah is a 44-year-old paddleboarder who used to be in the military. From The Wirral, she is ranked 2nd in the UK in the paddle board endurance series and now runs her own paddle board business.
She also got a job as a cleaner during the Covid-19 pandemic. Divorced with a daughter, Sarah revealed that she “has no problem with putting alpha males in their place if necessary”.
Meet fashion designer Julie
Julie, 28, is a junior fashion designer. The singleton lives with her sister Jade in London.
The contestant has been single for 4 years, and says her mum is constantly on her back that she needs to find a boyfriend, settle down and buy a house.
Julie’s family are Vietnamese and her nan in particular has very traditional views about men and women’s roles.
Meet former PE teacher Sam
Sam, a 26-year-old contestant from Devon, was recently working as a PE teacher in secondary schools but decided to change his job due to Covid-19.
He has recently moved back in with his parents in Devon and is studying a course in plumbing and gas.
Sam has skydived, bungee jumped and even been cage diving with sharks. He’s an adrenaline junkie!
