Louise Mensch: bio
She was born in Westminster, London on June 28th, 1971.
After studying English Language and Literature at Christ Church, Oxford University, Louise led a diverse career.
The 47-year-old now resides in New York with her second husband, Peter Mensch, and her three children.
Who is Peter Mensch?
Peter Mensch is a music manager born and bred in New York.
You may not recognise the name, but you will certainly recognise the bands he works with…
His clients have included AC/DC, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse and Snow Patrol.
Louise says the couple have major political differences, but the two clearly bonded over music!
Louise Mensch’s music career
Her first career path was into the music industry.
After completing a six-month internship with MTV Europe, she went on to work in music PR.
Louise worked with big-name companies such as EMI and Sony Music – so, she’s not your typical Tory MP!

Louise’s writing career
At the age of 18, Louise was named as the Young Poet of the Year.
After leaving the music industry, she returned to her love of writing and under her maiden name, Louise Bagshawe, she published 15 books, selling over 2 million copies.
And her sister Tilly is also a writer, clearly, so the writing gene clearly runs in the Bagshawe family.
Louise Mensch: Conservative MP
Louise won the Conservative seat for Corby, Northamptonshire in the 2010 General Election.
Her career in politics was shortlived as she resigned in August 2012 to move to New York with husband Peter.
However, she did play a role in the Murdoch phone-hacking inquiry and The Economist dubbed her the “surprise star” because of her interrogations of both James and Rupert Murdoch.

So what does Louise do now?
After moving to New York, Louise has settled down as a full-time blogger and writer.
She co-launched the news and opinion website Heat Street in February 2016 and went on to launch her own website, Patribotics, one year later.
But these websites have got Louise into trouble because on them she has published multiple claims and hoaxes about the Trump administrations involvement with Russia that has led her to be branded a conspiracy theorist.
Yikes!
Why did Louise Mensch quit Celebrity SAS?
Despite holding on for as long as possible, Louise chose to ‘voluntarily withdraw’ from the programme.
Louise suffered from an injury to her leg during the training for Celebrity SAS, an injury which was exacerbated during the first task – a backwards fall out of a helicopter and into a lake.
She told the Radio Times:
I had to go to hospital and I had a three and a half centimetre rip in the back of my muscle. Literally every step was painful.
But Louise also decided to withdraw from the SAS programme, as she feared she was holding back her teammates.
