Love Island teens application debunked
Despite online speculations surrounding Love Island offering applications for teenagers, these rumours have now been debunked.
ITV’s Love Island candidates must be 18-years-old or older.
Where did these speculations possibly begin?
TikTok teens previously created their own version of Love Island on the video-sharing platform since the dating show was cancelled in summer 2020 following the recent pandemic.
Unofficially named KG Island, the hypothetical production had thousands of viewers hooked and therefore could have sparked speculations surrounding a potential Love Island suited for younger contestants.
Additionally, the previous series of the dating show have shown young contestants only slightly above the age of teenagers.
Love Island’s first series accommodated 19-year-old Bethany Rogers as the youngest Islander of the group.
Amongst many others, season five’s Molly Mae Hague entered the villa at the young age of 20.
The ages of former Islanders also could have generated possibilities for younger future candidates.
A Twitter user recently praised the 2021 show for hosting more mature Islanders in their mid-20s.
