During episode four of First Dates, we were introduced to Sharran Alexander, the UK’s only female sumo wrestler.

Sharran was paired with former bingo-caller David in her quest for love, hoping to find someone who could see beyond her weight.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 30-stone beauty.

World’s Heaviest Sportswoman

In 2013, Sharran was named the world’s heaviest sportswoman.

Weighing in at exactly 203.6 kilograms (32 stone) the six-foot sumo wrestler picked up the Guinness World Record for her size.

Gold Medallist

Women’s sumo is not a recognised sport in the Olympics, although Sharran boasts four gold medals to her name.

She has represented Great Britain on the global stage at the World Sumo Championship and competing in various international tournaments.

5,000 Calories a Day

Sharran has previously revealed to eating around 5,000 calories a day.

That’s more than double the UK recommended of 2,000 calories – and a whole lot of chicken breast!

The food is needed to charge her heavyweight sumo physique, with every carb fuelling Sharran’s body from her 6ft height to size 10 feet.

Britain’s Only

The 52-year-old mother of three is Great Britain’s only recognised professional sumo wrestler.

Sharran only started her career in sumo at the age of 40, having joined the Team GB wrestling team via a television show.

Competing on Strictly Lady Sumo – after being signed up her children – Sharran’s sumo career charged forward from there.
