Fans of Love Island were life bamboozled as episode 25 of the ITV2 series featured a rather odd song choice.
The Love Island 2018 songs have been heavy on funky dance beats and pop classics so far, with artists like Mike Mago and Lana Del Ray enjoying a good run.
However, during the incredibly tense recoupling showdown which saw Georgia Steel have her heart crushed, there was a very strange song choice.
Georgia’s villa boyfriend, Josh Denzel, decided to couple up with Kazimir Crossley.
He then walked into the Majorca villa to the sound of Batman’s Dark Knight theme tune.

Batman Begins
Unlike the famous superhero, however, there was little support for Josh during episode 25.
Josh proved unloyal to Georgia and broke her heart in the process, reducing the 20-year-old to tears as the nation watched in shock.
ITV2 producers attempted to add to the tension – and disguise the fact there were 10 million extra long advert breaks – by loudly playing the Batman theme tune as Josh made his return.

The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight theme tune is more synonymous to montage shots of Christian Bale’s Batman carrying out death-defying stunts.
On this occasion, however, the theme tune became just another everyday Love Island song, providing the musical overlay for shots of Sam Bird’s eyebrows and Dani Dyer looking perplexed.
We’re not sure that’s what producers originally made the song for!
