Fans of First Dates were left dumbfounded by the appearance of Ruth, a 27-year-old accountant who believed she was stuck in the wrong body.
Although identifying as ethnic white, Ruth sparked discussions on Twitter over ‘wrong-race syndrome’ after she explained to the camera that she felt “black inside”.
And this, ladies and gentleman, is what social media was made for…

Brazilian Bum Lift
We were first introduced to Scottish Ruth as she put a confusingly squeaky American accent on display.
From here, we also got a glimpse of Ruth’s fake toosh, as she admitted to barman Merlin that she had a “Brazilian bum lift”.

Merlin’s reaction was priceless, as he entered full fascination mode.
Go on Merl…

Ruth explained that she performs at the Notting Hill Carnival, suited to the world of Brazilian booty shaking because of her big “bum-bum”.
Which again, obviously isn’t South American in any shape or form.

Of course, Ruth had to put her twerking skills on display, with Fred Sirieix proving an avid admirer as she did her thing in the middle of the restaurant.
Twitter just creased…

Ruth’s Date
From here, the accountant (by day and native Brazilian by night) started a string of controversial statements, starting by mentioning a “lack of black guys in Scotland”.
Keep pouring that Tanqueray, looking suave as f*ck and nod your head, Merlin!

And next up, here’s Ruth’s date…

Nah, we’re kidding, that’s Kit from episode 7.
Would have been funny though.
Ruth’s real date was 23-year-old dance enthusiast Michael.

The pair soon sat down for dinner and filled their conversation with constant natter about Ruth’s looks.
First, they discussed Ruth’s lip filler, with date Michael complimenting her facial features and adding that the lips “suited her”.

‘Black on the Inside’
From here, Ruth’s confessions to camera became increasingly uncomfortable for some fans on Twitter.
She opened up about a passion for black culture, although mixed in a few quotes that simply sting the eardrum with their clumsiness.
Lines such as “I’m black on the inside”…

Ruth confessed that her wild side and desires made her different from the rest of her family.
She’s never felt as if she has “fitted in”.

The date ended with Ruth laughing nervously on camera, hoping that date Michael didn’t only like her for her body – despite Mikey-Mike only talking about her body throughout the entire date.
They both confessed to wanting to see each other again, where the First Dates follow-up confirmed of another meetup.
