Stepping into the Love Island villa is always a tough feat. Not only do you have to win over your fellow Islanders and potential partner, but you have to win the support of the viewers at home.

But there’s one late entry Bombshell who has made it look super easy.

Cue Francesca Allen, the girl who has made the best first impression – potentially ever – on Love Island.

From her bubbly personality, chatty nature and the fact she took the nation’s favourite Ovie Soko on a date, she immediately won the public’s approval.

But there was also another reason Francesca won the support of viewers at home, as she went bare-faced on camera and showed her spots and acne scars. Here’s what happened…

Francesca goes makeup-free

On her first morning in the Love Island villa, 23-year-old Francesca made the decision to go makeup-free.

Most of the time the Islanders are wearing tonnes of makeup to look camera-ready, or they are just superhumans who have flawless skin. Either way, it is noticeable when any of the Islanders don’t look perfect.

So, absurd as it sounds, many viewers were surprised to Francesca go au naturale and be open about the scarring on her face.

Love Island casting team success!

For the first time ever, viewers are praising the Love Island casting team for selecting someone more ‘relatable’.

After the whole Anna Vakili as plus-sized debacle at the beginning of season 5, they needed to make some kind of improvement on their casting process.

And fans of the show were more than happy to see Francesca owning the scars. One said on Twitter that they were “nearly crying at the fact Francesca has acne scaring, FINALLY showing her skin off” before saying “ITV I love u” and another said it made her feel “all warm inside”.

Confident, attractive and relatable

Francesca was receiving everything from praise, admiration to just flat out compliments on her personality and beauty.

And it would seem that by going bare-faced she’s won over a whole horde of fans who relate to her acne struggles or admire her confidence to bat away said struggles.

Now that’s what we call making a great first impression!
