Who is the First Dates narrator?
The narrator of Channel 4′s First Dates is actor Brian Protheroe.
Over his career as an actor, he has appeared on numerous television shows including Holby City, Doctors and Hunted as well as appearing opposite Christopher Reeve in the 1978 film Superman.
He also appeared on stage in the original production of The Lord of The Rings musical as Saruman.
Why do I recognise his voice?
You may recognise Brian’s voice if you are a fan of your parent’s music from the 1970s.
That’s right, Brian was not only a successful actor but also a crooning musician and topped the charts with his debut single Pinball.
The track reached number 22 on the UK Top 50 in 1974 and was followed by a number of successful songs and albums.

Does Brian narrate any other shows?
From the looks of things, Brian’s only narration work is on Channel 4′s First Dates.
He began doing the voice over for the show in 2013 and has stuck with the program throughout all of the 12 series.
