Love Island fans were left bitterly disappointed when Danny Dyer failed to arrive in the villa.
Father to Dani Dyer – the favourite to win series four alongside boyfriend Jack Fincham – Danny was expected to join the Love Island gang in the ‘meet the parent’s episode’.
However, the only glimpse we got of Danny was through a semi-pixilated Skype call.

Dani Dyer’s Pre-warning
As the parents started to flock through the Love Island villa doors – and Alex George went from red to luminous red while meeting Alexandra Cane’s mum -Dani Dyer gave fans a subtle hint.
The other series four contestants asked Dani if her dad would likely make an appearance, to which she replied “no”, explaining that he “wouldn’t get the time off work”.

Danny Dyer on Skype
Although Dani’s grandparents did take a visit to Majorca, Danny Dyer was, unfortunately, a no-show.
Instead, the Eastenders actor made an appearance via Skype, where he also met Dani’s villa boyfriend, Jack Fincham.
A highlight of the hilarious conversation – where dad Danny proudly approved of his daughter’s boyfriend – included Danny’s anecdote about abs.
Danny Dyer said to Jack: It takes a real man to bowl in there with no abs.”
Jack has become renown for his ‘dad bod’ during Love Island 2018, something that Danny noted down as a trait of a true “geezer”.
Considering all of the other male contestants’ confidence leads back to their immaculate mid-drifts, it was a great shout from Danny.

Why Wasn’t Danny Dyer in Love Island?
Although Dani was right in saying that her dad wasn’t coming to the villa, she was very wrong in thinking the ol’ man couldn’t get the “time off work”.
Danny and wife Joanne are currently on holiday in the U.S.A.
They were spotted by eagled-eyed Love Island fans at the airport, sparking rumours of Danny boarding a plane to Spain.

Danny was actually heading to Florida.
