ITV’s new series will showcase what happens beyond the doors of The Savoy hotel in London.
The docuseries is set to welcome celebrity guests such as Gordon Ramsay, taking us through the most dramatic period of the luxury hotel’s history – from the busy winter season to its coronavirus shutdown. Staff will be seen faced with challenges to make the hotel magic happen with hard work and attention to detail.
Head butler Sean Davoren, who organises and reprimands his team in the butler’s pantry, is one of the main people of the show. So who is he? Meet The Savoy star – Instagram and family life!
Who is Sean Davoren?
Sean is a 62-year-old head butler at The Savoy hotel, next to the River Thames, in London. He is from Clarina, near Limerick City in Ireland. His role is technically ‘director of guest services’ at Fairmont Hotels, which owns The Savoy.
He attended catering college after school and started his career as a chef. Four years later, Sean began working in restaurants. He then joined Claridge’s and ran the foyer for 19 years.
The renowned butler completed a five-week course at the London School of the British Butler Institute before going on to work in private houses.
He then joined The Lanesborough Hotel for a decade before coming to The Savoy ten years ago as head butler.

Sean Davoren: The Savoy
Head butler Sean is seen making reprimands towards the hotel staff in ITV’s The Savoy.
His job involves looking after housekeeping, clothes, laundry, travel, as well as setting up IT equipment, finding and buying luxury items, and dealing with financial and travel arrangements. Sean also has the responsibility of advising others on protocol, etiquette and the correct dress.
People come to The Savoy to be entertained, to be wowed, to feel luxury and to feel special. When I was being trained they would hit you, throw things at you. It wouldn’t be appropriate to do things like that now.
Sean will also be seen showing cameras around the royal suite at The Savoy hotel, which costs £13,000 per night and runs the entire length of one corridor.
