The Youtube star has reacted to remarks that have been made from Deaf U viewers. Several fans were offended by how Cheyenna talked about deafness in the community. She said:
I recognize that “I am deaf enough” and the term of elitism, I recognize both things have harmed. I learned that the statement I used, “I am not deaf enough” is considered as a weaponizing and trope because this statement is harmful towards the deaf community when it is a marginalized group.
Cheyenna has revealed that she was angry towards the deaf community due to her traumas, frustrations and experiences she faced from a certain group that affected her thoughts.

She has grown in six years by featuring uploads of American Sign Language (ASL) versions of popular songs like Adele’s “Lovesong” along with content like clothing hauls and travel videos.
With at least 29,000 followers on Instagram, she aims to break the stigma surrounding deafness and complete her humanities studies at Washington State University, where she has moved onto from Gallaudet University.
Planning to graduate in December, she plans to continue to focus on her influencer career and possibly even expand into television or movie work, according to Bustle.
hearing people: oh gosh you don’t even look like a deaf person
me: oh I didn’t know that there are existing certain requirements about being a deaf person when there is not
them: but I’m so sorry, you don’t deserve this. you just looked so normal
