British detective drama Grantchester has returned for another series in 2019.
The show, which is set in the 1950’s, follows a vicar and Detective Inspector Geordie Keating as they deal with crime in the hamlet of Grantchester near Cambridge, England.
Based on the series of crime fiction books, ‘The Grantchester Mysteries’, by James Runcie, the show’s new series is set to be as gripping as ever.

Grantchester Season 5 Cast
The series 3 lead character, Sidney Chambers, was played by James Norton until episode 4 of series 4.
The rest of series 4 was taken over by Tom Brittney.
Brittney took over the lead role as Reverend Will Davenport.
Previous to Grantchester he had acted as Jack Rawle in Call the Midwife and Lieutenant Jeremy Foster in Outlander series 1.
There is currently no reason to believe that the cast will change again for series 5.
On Tom Brittney’s takeover, Kudos Executive Producer Diederick Santer said: “I’m ecstatic that – with Masterpiece and ITV – we are returning to Grantchester with all our favourite characters. While I’m sad that these will be James Norton’s final episodes, we will make sure he goes out with a bang. We’ve got exciting plans for where the show is heading and the vicarage won’t be vacant for long.”
