ITV series Save Money: Lose Weight has been trialling eight different popular diets to determine which is the best method for losing weight in 2019.
Episode 6 of the series shone the spotlight on the vegan keto diet, which proved not only incredibly popular with viewers but equally as impressive when it came to results.

What is the vegan keto diet?
It may sound like a bit of a mouthful but the vegan keto diet will fill your lips with a selection of natrual and nutrient-rich foods.
The ITV dieting-series explained that the concept is a simple mix-mash of the vegan and keto diets.
Host Sian Williams said:
The keto part is designed to put the body in ketosis, where it burns fat for fuel. The vegan element means eating only plant-based food – like oils, seeds and nuts.
What’s the cost?
The Save Money: Lose Weight experts predicted that the diet programme would cost around £280 for 28 days.
This works out to £10 per day for all home-cooked meals.
Each of the meals did look pretty damn delicious, though, such as zucchini alfredo and cauliflower soup.

Keto vegan diet results!
Push the cost to the side and the results look more than worth it.
Thirty-year-old insurance worker Hollie, from Kings Lynne, lost a huge 1 stone and 6lbs.
Week 1: 19 stone 1lbs
Week 4: 17 stone 9lbs
Biggest selling point: Hollie also lost five inches from her waist size.
Hollie was chuffed with the results although she did add that it was very tough, as the diet “killed her social life” because she was unable to drink alcohol or eat meals out.

Although the show highlighted the benefits of the diet, it didn’t really explain the do’s and don’t.
