Last night (Monday, May 6th), ITV brought back their special show which sees some of our favourite celebrity stars strip off in aid of cancer research!

The All New Monty: Who Bares Wins saw eight more male celebrities strip off to raise funds and awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.

But the episode took a heartbreaking turn, as Joe Pasquale‘s father passed away from the disease he was fundraising to prevent.

Who was Joe’s dad?

When speaking about why he decided to appear on the show, Joe Jr. said the “reason I’m here is my dad”.

Joe Pasquale’s father, also called Joe Pasquale – which has caused quite the confusion for fans – was suffering from prostate cancer.

The 88-year-old was diagnosed, as we learnt on the show, almost 26 years ago.

Despite being successfully treated during his first battle with the disease, his cancer returned in 2009 and the doctors have since stopped his medication as it became tragically incurable.

When did he pass away?

Joe’s father was alive during the filming of the show and they included a touching scene of Joe visiting his dad in the hospice he was in.

But at the end of the episode, they dedicated the show to Joe Pasquale Senior suggesting that he had died shortly after filming.

Joe Pasquale Junior has yet to make a statement about his fathers passing, but his All New Monty co-stars, Jack Fincham and Willie Nelson touched upon his death on This Morning.

Willie said: “Joe Pasquale lost his father a few weeks ago. He was on the show when his father was alive. Condolences to Joe.”

Joe Junior/Senior confusion

The identical names caused some confusion with viewers…

The dedication at the end to ‘Joesph Pasquale’ had some viewers thinking the I’m A Celeb star had passed away.

Although the dates would suggest he was 88 and not 57 like Joe Pasquale Junior, it did not stop some viewers taking to Twitter to express their concerns over the sudden death of the King of the Jungle.
