As the new season of Cheer makes its way back to Netflix screens today, fans cannot wait to get back into the drama in Navarro College and Trinity College.

Several favourites from Season 1 are returning including La’Darius Marshall, Morgan Simianer, Lexi Brumback and Gabi Butler, but many of the original cast members have now graduated in the series so we are in store for a host of new talent on the Navarro and Trinity college teams.

Here’s everything you need to know about Cheer Season 2’s new cast members.

Meet the new Cheerleaders of Navarro college

Maddy Brum – @maddybrum

Originally from Massachusetts, Maddy Brum joined the Navarro cheer team in 2019 and was ready to begin competing in Daytona the following year.

Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of Covid, Maddy’s opportunity to perform that year was lost, leaving the cheerleader devastated.

During the new season, we see Maddy back fighting on the mat. Throughout the series, she is praised by coach Monica and manages to earn her spot as the top flyer for Daytona.

During the series, viewers will be able to see Maddy openly discuss her troubled childhood and complicated relationship with her father, who served a 10-year prison sentence.

Alongside her candid discussions about her personal life, we will see Maddy pile the pressure on herself and occasionally, too much.

Gillian Rupert – @gillianrupert

Gillian Rupert also joined the Navarro team around the same time as Maddy, also competing at the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 championships at Daytona.

During the new series, we see Gillian come out of her shell and into her own. Starting as somewhat of a ‘rookie’ she grows in confidence throughout after opening up to fellow teammates and best friend Cassadee Dunlap.

Outside of her career in cheerleading at Navarro, Gillian cheers for CA Wildcats where she helped them take home the win in 2019.

Cassadee Dunlap – @cassadeedimples

Another rookie, Cassadee is a Tumblr for Navarro when we meet her in Cheer.

Throughout the series, Cassadee opens up about her past as a pageant star has also been in the infamous Toddlers and Tiaras and Cheer Perfection.

At the end of the season, it’s revealed Cassadee would not be returning to the team as she decided to go to university at the University of Central Arkansas.

Brooke Morosca – @brookemorosca

One of Navarro’s most talented cheerleaders, Brooke is a flyer who tries her hardest throughout the series to make mat for the Daytona championships.

Outside of Navarro, Brooke is also a cheerleading coach and also cheers for Cheer Athletics and Next Level Cheerleading, she is also studying at the University of Tennessee.

Payton Sykes – @payton.sykes

Payton Sykes is the attitude of the Navarro team, bringing all the sass and trendiness to the team.

Outside of Navarro, Payton also cheers for Cheer Athletics and Woodlands Elite Cheer Company, winning bronze and silver at the world championships.

Meet the new cheerleaders of Trinity Valley Community College

Jada Wooten – @jadawooten

Jada Wooten is known as one of the most outspoken and talented cheerleaders at TVCC.

Competing as not only a tumbler but a flyer, she lives and breaths cheerleading and by Daytona 2021 is classed as one of the strongest leaders on the team.

Jada previously cheered for Cheer Athletics and is a 2015 World Champion.

Jeron Hazelwood – @prince_jeron

Jeron Hazelwood is one of the teams biggest personalities and we see him shine throughout the new season.

He is known for always lifting the teams’ spirit as well as his great performance as a stunter and tumbler.

Much like others, Jeron, unfortunately missed the opportunity to perform at Daytona in 2020 due to the covid pandemic.

He also cheers for Gymtyme Chrome and Cheer Athletics.

DeVonte ‘Dee’ Joseph – @tumbling_dee

Devonte ‘Dee’ Joseph is one of the best tumblers on the team, showcasing his talent and skill wherever and whenever he can.

He is that good that he can quite easily perform a ‘quint’ – a flip with five turns that is considered to be one of the hardest moves as a cheerleader and is illegal to perform at Daytona.

Dee learned his cheer skills from his brother who is also a professional cheerleader at Georgia’s Flip City South.

Angel and Jayden Rice – @qangel_rice and @jaymogoodeypfk

Brother and sister duo, Angel and Jayden are both tumblers for the TVCC team.

Angel has been described as the ‘Simone Biles’ of the cheerleading world with the former Team USA gymnastics star holding a Guinness World Record for most double full twists.

Her brother, Jayden, has previously cheered for CA Wildcats and is close friends with other teammates, Dee and Ben, forming the trio known as “The Weenies.”

Ben ‘Benji’ Chester – @benjI.lv

Benji is a rookie tumbler on the TVCC team but is praised throughout the show for his incredible flexibility and strength.

TVCC is not Benji’s first time cheerleading, having previously competed with Rockstar Cheer.

He currently cheers for CA’s Wildcats.
