The Transformers franchise has had its ups and downs. Who’d have thought a few months ago that we’d be hoping for a Bumblebee 2?

Yet, here we are. Travis Knight’s reboot of the mega-budget Transformers franchise, Bumblebee, has brought the series a different kind of success.

Usually the films prove financially triumphant; critically, on the other hand, not quite so victorious. However, Bumblebee has the highest Metascore of any film of the franchise, and the highest IMDb audience score at 7.2.

So, surely the Bumblebee series is in good hands… right?

Transformers 6

The last movie we had under the official Transformers banner was Transformers: The Last Knight, in 2017.

There have been rumours flying around that we can expect a good few more sequels. However, there were also reports that Bumblebee would be considered as Transformers 6.

This didn’t seem to be the case, as Bumblebee was billed as more of a reboot to try and invest audiences who had grown tired of the franchise.

For those who are missing Michael Bay at the helm, according to Deadline, there is still hope.

An animated movie, as well as official Transformers sequels, are still on the cards.

Bumblebee 2

Despite expectations for future Transformers instalments, most are hoping for Bumblebee 2.

Fortunately, it looks like the project is already in development with Paramount!

Although it hasn’t exactly stacked up the most money of the franchise, it looks like it has made enough cash to warrant a sequel.

Bumblebee 2: Release Date

Obviously, most of us would be happy to see Bumblebee 2 right now!

Unfortunately, it looks like we may have quite a long wait on our hands.

It’s likely that a Bumblebee sequel would be released after an official Transformers 6, so in the meantime, we’ll have to sit back and enjoy the others.

At least it’s happening though; Bumblebee fans rejoice!
