ITV2 plans on shutting down the winter period with a brand new, hot and steamy reality TV show.
Fans of shows like the hugely popular Love Island have been calling out for more – yes, more – similar productions, and now the wait is finally over.
Eight months since the record breaking Love Island final, where Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay were crowned winners, and the first series of Survival of The Fittest will air in the UK.
When does Survival of The Fittest 2018 start?
The saucy reality show will start in February.
Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, said: “ITV2’s younger audience will no doubt relish the escapism this immersive physical game show will provide this winter.
“Like Love Island before it, this series’ nightly mixture of fun challenges and burgeoning relationships ought to be a must see.”
ITV2 have not confirmed an exact start date for the series although it is widely expected to start towards the beginning of February.
What is it about?
Survival of The Fittest follows a group of young, hot singletons competing against one other physically, mentally and of course, romantically.
In the ultimate battle of the sexes, a team of girls and a team of boys go head-to-head in a series of challenges to determine which sex wins.
TWIST: Living under the sweltering sun and together in “The Lodge” means romantic relationships could easily get in the way.
Will the girls put sisters before misters and will the boys choose mates over dates? Or will competitors end the night in bed with the enemy?
Where is Survival of The Fittest filmed?
Unlike the relaxed environment of Love Island’s Majorca villa, Survival Of The Fittest was filmed in much more unforgiving terrain.
The South African savannah is the backdrop for ITV2’s new reality show.
However, described by ITV as a ‘stripped entertainment series’, we expect to see more frolicking in swimwear than gruelling physical challenges.
Who is presenting the show?
The show will be presented by Laura Whitmore.
The 32-year-old Irish TV presenter and model is best known for co-hosting I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! NOW!
Laura said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of the Survival of the Fittest team.
“The ITV family always manages to come up with exciting and innovative formats and this brand new show is the ultimate Boys versus Girls.”
