Meet Shauna

Shauna Guinn is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland but now living in Barry, Wales.

The two cooks met in Cardiff in the late 1990s and became fast friends. They later moved to London together.

While in London, Shauna was working as a high-level policy advisor on child abuse while best mate Sam was working as a global head of creative. Shauna also tought at London universities as a guest lecturer on child protection law.

In 2012, they decided to quit their jobs and go on an American road trip, pursuing their joint passions, barbecue and country music.

And this decision evidently was a good one, as Shauna and business partner Sam started a successful pop-up BBQ station in The Canadian, a pub in Cardiff. Their success at The Canadian earned them the title of ‘Best Street Food’ at the 2015 BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards and helped launch their first restaurant!
