David Potts, also known as El Jefe, is the glue that binds together ITV2 series Ibiza Weekender.
Sure, he’s not the most practical. He doesn’t look like the most organised, effective and professional holiday rep, either, but David is the only member of the Ibiza crew who isn’t constantly drunk or busy snogging another rep.
Neither Ibiza Weekender or new spin-off series Weekender: Boat Party would be the same without head rep El Jef’, with fans flocking to the show to see his hilarious antics.
Here is everything you need to know about David Potts from his age to dating history, Instagram and life outside of Ibiza.
How old is David Potts?
The Weekender’s David Potts is 26 years old.
According to website Famed Star, he was born on May 5th, 1993. This makes El Jefe a Taurus.
- SURELY NOT: Are Callum and Chloe still dating? What happened after Ibiza Weekender 2019?
Where is El Jefe from?
Although given a Spanish nickname that translates to ‘the boss’, El Jefe is from England.
His accent and witty one-liners add a much-needed comical touch to Weekender: Boat Party, with David boasting a strong Manchester accent.
He was born in Bolton.
Is he gay?
Captain David is openly gay although he rarely lets romance conflict with work. Unlike infamous holiday rep Jordan Davies, El Jefe isn’t exactly renown for necking on or getting on the pull.
However, David featured on the 2019 series of Celebs Go Dating and finished the show by dating Luke. And fans of this romance will be in for a surprise during the 2020 series of Ibiza Weekender…
Although Luke and David don’t appear to be in a serious relationship, the pair obviously grew close during filming for Celebs Go Dating. Reality Titbit can confirm that Luke will surprise El Jefe by making an unscheduled appearance on Ibiza Weekender and turning up as a guest!
David told ITV:
I was seeing someone before I flew over to Ibiza called Luke, but we stopped talking about a month before I went over. I didn’t know he was going to come out as we had stopped speaking as we had fallen out so when he turned up I was shocked.
What is David’s real job?
Well, he’s a holiday rep – of course!
David isn’t head rep of Ibiza Weekender for no reason and holiday repping has been his profession for several years.
While it may seem like the reps do little more than slam shots and drink cocktails, David’s job is to organise the entire island-hopping experience.
When he’s not performing on ITV2, El Jefe is working as a rep in Ibiza, Magaluf and other holiday hot spots. However, given his now celebrity status and 300,000 followers on Instagram, it’s likely that the 26-year-old does more celeb appearances and endorsements to make his money rather than the grind of seasons in Magaluf.
David on Ibiza Weekender 2020
Speaking to ITV about the 2020 series, David explained that there was plenty of drama on the show with more rep-rep romances than he could keep track of.
He also teased an episode where Jordan Davies gets a tattoo to celebrate his promotion on the show, becoming the Ibiza Weekender ‘satisfaction manager’ – whatever that means.
Jordan got a tattoo and he totally went above and beyond the job role. That is definitely not something that was required.
WATCH IBIZA WEEKENDER 2020 EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT ON ITV2 AT 10 PM.
