Series four of Celebs Go Dating has proved a popular hit in the U.K, adding much needed doses of humour, sass and outrage to our weekly TV schedule.
That, and we get to laugh at ‘Muggy’ Mike Thalassitis.
Featuring dating experts Nadia Essex and Eden Blackman, alongside a host of celebs, we are just past the half way mark in the 20-episode series.
Particular highlights have been the cutthroat commentary of comedian Rob Beckett and everybody’s favourite receptionist Tom. Maybe not favourite. But definitely most bizarre.
Tom has provided that severe whiplash of sass that every good reality TV show needs. His quick witted quips often put celebrities in a fluster and Tom feels that he has to leave every conversation with “farewell darling”.
He also came out with this description of favourite Sam Thompson.
Tom has a tendency to pronounce each word with such clarity and attention that it sounds completely absurd when gushing from his mouth full of bright white teeth.
As Jonathan Lipnicki said:
If there is one thing the fans of Celebs Go Dating have noticed, it’s the constantly flawless outfits that Tom sports to work.
For anyone that wants to know which cravats are trending right now . . .
Receptionist Tom enjoys coming out with strings of exotic vocabulary and expressions that often completely bamboozle the celebs.
Okay, so it might not take much to throw Gemma Collins’s brain into meltdown, but check out Tom’s description of Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson’s blonde locks.
“You look like you’ve been touched by Midas”
To which Sam responded with “What’s Midas?”
“He was the king, that legend has it, everything he touched turned to gold.
“And your skin is gold, and your hair is gold, it looks like spun gold.”
Terrible Reception Skills
Despite having quite literally one job to do, Tom often fails at his one job. The struggle of working out how to answer his telephone is just a sample of the problems Tom has faced.
The running theme has seen celebs stranded at the door with Tom facing some serious challenges when it coms to buzzing them in.
To be fair, we’ve all been there – buzz-doors suck!
It was in episode nine when Tom really busted his nut when it came to bizarre comparisons. Welcoming race car driver Seb Morris to the agency, Tom chose this comparison when trying to relate to Seb’s profession in the fast lane.
Tom said: “I’m so envious of your job.
“See I adore Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and I imagine that’s the closest thing in real life to kind of a car sporting wings and that . . . .
“You know, going that quickly.”
Fans of Twitter have been calling out for one thing when it comes to series four of the show, and that’s a relationship between Tom and client Ollie Locke.
The Made in Chelsea star has been thought as the perfect match for the quirky and well-maintained receptionist, and it’s not like there has been a lack of flirting between the pair.
Although Tom does tend to flirt with absolutely everyone.
