Episode three of First Dates brought a reality TV first, with matched couple Will and Jordan made to think that they were related.
The pair were set up on a romantic dinner date by Channel 4 experts, although things didn’t exactly go to plan.
Jordan couldn’t get over the fact that her date looked identical to her brother, and the revelation that they both shared the same surname ‘Reid’ only added to a very odd dating experience.
Realitytitbit caught up with ‘that tall guy’ William Reid to finally clear things up.
First things first Will – are you related?
Few, that’s a relief. There was just this Tweet and…
I went to school with these two on #FirstDates & can confirm they are in fact related! 😂😂 But didn’t want to waste a TV opportunity, so carried on…

Nah, that’s absolute bullsh*t.
I’ve never met the girl in my life.
We are in talks about getting a DNA test so something might happen with that.
But from our knowledge, we didn’t know each other at all and no we’re not related.
Glad we cleared that up.
To be fair, if we are related then it wouldn’t surprise me.
I know that my uncles and my dad like to put it about a bit.
So if you were related, a few cheeky barbecues?
Yeah yeah, of course, we would meet up at a family barbecue and all that.
Maybe laugh about the fact I went on a date with my second cousin.
(Loudly groans) Maybe not actually.
Was it scripted then?
No, not all.
It’s not scripted or anything.
They did direct me towards asking about her last name, so the producers did have a rough idea of what was going on.
Just plain bizarre, then!
Yeah, the whole experience was completely surreal.
