Who is David Baker? Here’s everything you need to know about the Forged in Fire judge.
Season 8 of Forged In Fire continues to air every Thursday at 9pm on Sky History, and the competition is really hotting up now.
The reality show sees four bladesmiths complete in an elimination contest to forge bladed weapons, and the overall winner receives $10,000 and the title of ‘Forged in Fire Champion’.
As well as the contestants, some notable people on the show include the host, Grady Powell and three judges, J. Neilson, Doug Marcaida and David Baker.

Who is David Baker?
David Baker is one of the judges on Sky History’s Forged in Fire.
He is a world-renowned swordsmith who specialises in recreating some of the world’s rarest historic edged weapons for both films and museums. He loves to create replicas that are as close as possible to the original, from samurai swords to submachine guns.
David has an extensive knowledge of weaponry and is an expert in weapons history.
David Baker’s age revealed
David Baker was born on June 12, 1962, making him 58 years old.
He was born in Long Beach, California, United States.
David was a Hollywood actor and prop-maker
Before he became a blacksmith, David Baker was actually a Hollywood actor. He moved to Hollywood in the 1980s and landed his first role in the TV show Call To Glory.
Then, he quit acting and became a Hollywood prop-maker which is where his love for weapon-making emerged. He then appeared on the programme Deadliest Warrior, a show where information on warriors and their weapons are used to determine which of them is the ‘deadliest’.
He was then asked to join Forged In Fire in 2015 and as well as replica weapon-making, that is now his full-time job.
