Gogglebox

Gogglebox is a BAFTA-award winning show from Channel 4 where a cast of families and friends watch the hottest TV on the week and react to the shocking and emotional shows.

The hit reality show reveals viewers’ true reactions to the news and television programs over recent days.

Launched in 2013, the show is set to release its thirteenth season after series 12 came out in February 2022. Originally narrated by Caroline Aherne until her death in 2016, Craig Cash took over the role afterward.

The Gogglebox cast has touched the hearts of millions, including old favourites like late Leon and June or hilarious sibling duo Ellie Warner and Pete Sandiford. After almost 300 episodes, the likes of Jenny Newby, Lee Riley, Ellie and Izzi Warner and the Siddiqui family have kept viewers laughing.

However, fans have had to say goodbye after tragedies in the Gogglebox cast as well. The world said goodbye to adored regulars Leon and June Bernicoff. Leon passed away in 2017 before June sadly died in 2020. Gogglebox then said goodbye to Pete McGarry and Mary Cook in 2021. Days after, news came Andy Michael had passed away, who was one of the show’s original cast members. Andy had appeared in the very first episode in 2013.

The show has won numerous awards, including a BAFTA in 2014 and 2022 for the Reality & Constructed Factual category. Gogglebox also bagged a National Television Award four times between 2015 and 2021.

Due to its success, three spin-off programs were released, including Gogglesprogs where children watched relevant TV and news. There was also Vlogglebox in which the cast was aged between 16 and 24. Then there was the highly-rated Celebrity Gogglebox where stars across the UK sat down and reacted to the biggest TV shows of the week.
