Nanny Faye Chrisley, the family matriarch, is the mother of real estate agent and self-made millionaire Todd Chrisley. She was married to Gene Raymond Chrisley and the two had Todd, who would later marry Julie Chrisley.

In 2014, Todd introduced his family, full of southern charm, to the reality TV world with their USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best.

The wealthy family’s luxury lifestyle, along with Todd ruling them with an iron fist, took center stage of the series. However, when it comes to Nanny Faye, she didn’t grow up with a silver spoon. The star opened up over her upbringing in a 2021 episode, where she told grandchildren Grayson and Chase she would work on the family farm every morning.

Nanny Faye also had another child, Derrick Chrisley, who sadly died as an infant. And his and Todd’s older brother Randy was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2014, however there is no further update beyond the original diagnosis.

In 2022, Faye had sad news of her own. She was diagnoses with bladder cancer and received treatment for the disease. She had wanted to keep the new private. However, after Todd and Julie’s conviction over fraud and tax evasion, they released the diagnosis update.

It comes after she battled breast cancer five years earlier. She had also suffered two broken ribs following an accident in July 2021.

Her former husband, Gene Chrisley, sadly died from cancer in 2012. At age 77, he was the family patriarch. Gene served in the United States military and was honored with a bronze star for his work in the Korean War.
