She was first offered a contract with Def So So Recordings as part of winning season 1 of The Rap Game.

Mulatto released her first single No More Talking in February 2016, before she joined The Rap Game co-star Lil Niqo for their collaboration single Tough on the Internet.

She also won the Youth Hip Hop and R&B Award at the 2016 Georgia Music Awards during the same year she released her first mixtape, Miss Mulatto.

Mulatto’s journey on The Rap Game

In 2016, Mulatto was one of the contestants on season 1 of The Rap Game, led by record producer Jermaine Dupri and rapper Queen Latifah.

Performing under stage name Miss Mulatto at the time, she was crowned the winner. However she turned down a contract deal with So So Def Recordings as she allegedly claimed it didn’t offer enough money.

Mulatto went on to become an independent artist just months after her appearance.
