7 Little Johnstons is a reality television show on TLC which details the lives of the members of the Johnston family, who all have Achondroplasia Dwarfism.
The show, which debuted back in 2015, has just finished airing its eighth season on TLC, with the last episode airing on February 17th.
As suggested by the name of the show, there are seven members in the Johnston family, with parents Amber and Trent at the helm.
Only two of the young Johnstons and Amber and Trent’s biological children, and the family have been very open about their adoption journey throughout the years.
How many of the Seven Little Johnsons are adopted?
Jonah and Elizabeth are Trent and Amber’s biological children.
Trent and Amber adopted three more kids — who also have dwarfism — from all over the world. Anna is from Russia, Alex is from South Korea, and Emma is from China.
In a YouTube video, Amber Johnston said:
“Adoption is not necessarily for everybody. However, everybody can be a part of adoption — whether it’s making donations to a specific family that’s adopting or a specific organisation. Our family was created not only by birth, but also by adoption, and Trent and I are extremely proud of that.”
How old are the 7 Little Johnstons?
Jonah, the oldest, is 20 years-old, Anna is the second oldest at 19, Elizabeth is 18, and Alex and Emma are 14.
Back in 2017, Amber and Trent approached the topic of adopting another baby. Amber said: “I got notification of a 2-year-old child with Achondroplasia that is available for adoption in China. And I really have the feeling that he should be a Johnston.”
However, Trent had reservations about adopting another young child, saying: “I don’t want to be retired and still have grade school kids,”
