Love Island USA season 3 is almost here, and the 12 excited singles who are preparing to enter the gorgeous villa in Hawaii have just been announced.

The 90 minute season premier of Love Island USA will be aired on Wednesday July 7th at 9:30/8:30c on CBS and Paramount+.

Amongst the 12 singles about to enter the villa is 24 year-old psychiatric nurse Trina Njoroge from Hacienda Heights, California.

Who is Trina Njoroge on Love Island USA?

Trina Njoroge is one of the lucky singles entering the villa on this season of Love Island USA. Trina works as a psychiatric nurse and describes herself as a “mental health advocate.”

Some of Trina’s other accomplishments include winning Miss Hacienda Heights USA in 2020, and the Face of Kenya USA in 2015. Trina is Kenyan, though she currently resides in Los Angeles.

In Trina’s short Love Island introduction she says:

“I’m a psychiatric nurse and I can spot the red flags from miles away.”

Trina also runs a YouTube channel, and during a Q&A video from 2020 she explained that her dream in life is to “open multiple residential homes for people that are in crisis or people that are just mentally unstable.”

Trina stated:

“For me that’s a huge passion, going to work every day knowing that I’m going to change someone’s life and going to sleep knowing that I’ve done that.”

The Love Island contestant won the Face of Kenya contest in 2015.

In an interview with Sunday Nation Trina said that she had been inspired by the success of Lupita Nyong’o who showed her that “you can be black in America and still emerge from the receding cloud of racism and discrimination to achieve your dreams and aspirations.”
