Tommy Chauvin is well known as an alligator hunter and stepson of fellow hunter Joe LaFont. Chauvin was born on 5th September 1978 in Louisiana, US.

Tommy states to Joey Edgar that he was 14/15 years old when he first went deer hunting. He is no stranger to hunting after decades of growing up in Louisiana, to a family of hunters.

He is married to a woman named Sarah Namer, with who he has two children. However, much of Chauvin’s family life is kept private so information about them is not known at this time.

He was first introduced to the History channel’s Swamp People in the 1st Episode of season 1, which aired in August 2010. Chauvin appeared in seasons 1-3, 6 and 8-9. In 2016, he was laid off along with other cast members.

What happened to Trigger Tommy explained

Tommy was in an accident in 2019, whereby he was involved in a close proximity explosion. Due to his extensive injuries from the accident he set up a GoFundMe account to help with his recovery from the accident.

The page says that his entire body was damaged during the blast. It goes on to say “rupturing his eardrums, damaging his eyes, and multiple abrasions on his chest and arms. The accident also resulted in traumatic amputation of the right hand and thumb”.

Following the accident, he underwent multiple surgeries to save as much of his hands as they could but unfortunately, some of his fingers had to be amputated. So far just under $3k has been raised out of a $20,000 goal. There has been no news since 2019 to say how his recovery is going. Networthmag says “Tommy still hasn’t got the full use of his right hand back. He also puts his life on the line every time he tussles with a gator.”.

Tommy Chauvin net worth revealed

Tommy Chauvin’s net worth is placed at $300k according to TV Show Stars. The ‘gator hunter made his money not only through hunting but from his appearances on Swamp People.

Royalties from the show are expected to boost his earnings as the show becomes more popular. Not only does he hunt and appear on TV but Tommy is known for taking on additional construction and community work in his spare time, which helps him make a living. However, due to his accident, it is unclear if he is still able to engage in this line of work. (As stated above).
