Who is The Bachelor?

The Bachelor in this series of the show is a gentleman named Nick Viall.

Nick is 37 years old and is from the state of Wisconsin in the USA.

Now, after The Bachelor, he is a TV personality in the states and a model, too. However, he worked in software sales prior to his stint on The Bachelor.

Who Does Nick Viall Choose?

Nick chose none other than Vanessa Grimaldi. Vanessa, 29 years old, was a special education teacher from Montreal, Quebec in Canada.

The final three of this series of The Bachelor were Rachel Lindsay, Raven Gates, and, of course, Vanessa.

Rachel was eliminated, finishing in third place, which meant that the final two were Raven and Vanessa. Nick chose the latter – meaning Raven finished as runner-up and Vanessa Grimaldi won the show – and Nick’s heart.

Is There a Proposal?

Yes, the point of the show is for there to be a proposal between the bachelor and the woman he eventually chooses – but that hasn’t always happened.

In fact, in the 20 series prior to Nick’s, only 12 of those ended in a proposal. Yikes.

So Nick and Vanessa did pretty well in the end.

Are They Still Together?

Don’t get too excited, though. There’s some bad news here.

Although the two became betrothed and were due to be married, Nick and Vanessa parted ways the following August after their time on The Bachelor had ended.

Yep, Nick and Vanessa have broken up and are no longer together.

That may add a bitter tinge to your viewing of The Bachelor, but hopefully, you’ll enjoy the ride anyway. It’s about the journey, not the destination, right? Right?
