Samira Mighty has decided to leave Love Island.
The 22-year-old dancer was left heartbroken when villa boyfriend, Frankie Foster, was voted off from series four earlier in the week.
Although Samira decided not to leave the villa with Frankie, she cut a distraught figure over the following few days.
Now, as reported by the official Love Island App, Samira has decided to quit the show.
Why Did Samira Quit Love Island?
Samira Mighty has quit Love Island so she can pursue her romantic relationship with Frankie Foster.
She’s not the first Love Island 2018 star to walk away from the show, however, with Niall Aslam leaving the series in the first week for personal reasons.
Samira is the first Islander to walk away from the sunny Majorca villa because of a relationship, however, with Adam Collard opting to stay in the villa when his girlfriend, Zara McDermott, was shown the door.
The West End actor’s last words on the show came as she sobbed to gal-pal Dani Dyer, explaining that she felt distraught and heartbroken following Frankie’s dismissal.
Samira said to Dani: We’ve been here from the start and I feel like I’ve finally got what I wanted and now I feel like I’m back at square one but worse. It’s unfinished business.”
What Next For Samira on Love Island?
During Niall’s sudden exit from the villa, we didn’t get to see the energetic student bid goodbye to the rest of his villa contestants.
However, this may be different with Samira.
Whether we see Samira quip her emotional goodbyes during tonight’s (Thursday 12th July 2018) or not, Love Island has released Samira’s final statement.
Samira broke the news that she was going to leave Love Island to Ellie Brown, Megan Barton-Hanson and Dani saying:
So, my lovely beautiful girls, you guys know that I’ve had a really tough couple of days here recently and I’ve been umming and ahhing about leaving.
I’ve not had any connection in here with anyone and I had a little taste of that with Frankie and it’s gone abruptly and I think I’d always be thnking ‘what if?’. I woke up this morning and I thought, it’s my time to go… I have to do this for me, I’ve never felt something so strong.”
The decision to quit Love Island 2018 and walk out on the chance of £50,000 has caught a lot of social media users off guard, especially as Samira’s relationship with Frankie was relatively new.
Let’s just hope that Frank is there waiting on the outside, perhaps with a bouquet of flowers, too!
Good for you samira you followed your heart and that’s what the show is really about, go get your man and good luck for the future
