Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls is a reality TV show like no other.
Unglamorous and unforgiving, the celebrities on the show endure four weeks of physical and mental hell.
In series 3, Roxanne Pallett, Paris Lee and Montana Brown all quit the Island before it came to a close.
There is only one episode left – airing on Monday, October 8th – with viewers noticing dramatic weight loss changes to all of the remaining contestants.
Here are some shocking pictures from before and after Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.
Montana Brown: The Island
Love Island series 3 star Montana Brown was the first to quit the Island, lasting around 14 days on the show.
After leaving the series she posted an alarming picture on Instagram to show her dramatic weight loss.
Montana’s Instagram read:
It was definitely the hardest experience of my life but I’m so glad I was in there with such an amazing group of people. So for all of you that were like “eurgh you look so skinny yuck!” A few months back… it’s because my belly was full of limpet shit and that was probably about it so….
The Island: Paris Lees
Contestants on Celebrity Island are left to fend for themselves, given nothing more than a few basic tools to survive.
This meant that fishing and foraging for food were essential parts of Island life, although the series 3 cast were often left with a severe lack of nutrition from their daily catches.
Paris’s Instagram read:
Before and after Celebrity Island. The picture on the left is probably the biggest I’ve ever been as I’ve always been fairly slim. The one on the right is after pretty much 9 days of no food.
What they didn’t show you was that I was violently sick about 2 days in after becoming dehydrated searching for water. A week in, I collapsed, which is why you see me telling the doctor I feel ‘collapsy’ in the second episode – ie like how I did before I collapsed.
Celebrity Island: Martin Kemp
Martin’s shocking weight loss can be determined by the change of shape in his shirt.
At the start of The Island, his green T was tight fitting and snug around his chest and gut.
By the end of the series, it is loose and baggy. He claims to have lost two stone (12.7kg) over the 28-day survival show.
Celebrity Island: James Cracknell
Olympic rower James Cracknell had a severe drop in muscle mass during his time on the show.
This was not only due to a lack of food but also because of the reduced amounts of intense physical activity compared to what James is used to.
The same applied for professional boxer Anthony Ogogo.
