Following in the footsteps of Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud is architectural designer Charlie Luxton.

Charlie is making his move into the world of TV presenting on Wednesday night (December 5th) as he presents new Channel 4 show World’s Weirdest Homes.

What is World’s Weirdest Homes?

Channel 4 series World’s Weirdest Homes sees Charlie Luxton exploring the jaw-dropping homes and unusual residences scattered across the world.

Charlie meets a group of scientists pretending they live on Mars, a billionaire YouTube celebrity with his own zoo, and a Bible-obsessed Dutch entrepreneur.

It airs on Wednesday, December 5th, on Channel 4 at 9 pm.

Is it a Series?


There is only one World’s Weirdest Homes episode, although a similar show called The World’s Most Expensive Presents continues next week on Channel 4 at 10 pm.

It will not be hosted by Charlie Luxton.

Who is Charlie Luxton?

Charlie is a 44-year-old architectural designer with two children. He was born in Sydney, Australia, but moved to England when he was 10 years old.


Charlie studied Architecture at Oxford Brookes University before completing his Masters in the subject at the Royal College of Art.

Charlie has already enjoyed brief TV presenting gigs such as hosting Channel 5’s Modern British Architects and featuring as a regular designer on BBC series DIY SOS.

However, World’s Weirdest Homes would certainly be considered his ‘big break’ and Charlie is now filming two new documentaries with C4.
