Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham have just finished pranking the U.K by pretending that they were engaged!
Love Island fans everywhere were planning their new national holiday when reports surfaced online stating that Dani and Jack were engaged.
However, the headlines were a hook and the story was based on a prank.
Here’s how it all unfolded…
Dani Dyer on Capital FM
Since leaving the Love Island villa, Dani has been a regular on the Capital FM Breakfast Show.
In a cruel and elaborate hoax, Breakfast host Roman Kemp asked Dani to tweet a fake picture of an engagement ring as a dare.
The post read “I can’t believe it”, as Dani told fans that she had found her soul mate.
The post earned 15,000 likes and had over 1,000 retweets before Dani had to come clean about the news.
In a follow-up tweet, she revealed all.
Let’s just hope Jack Fincham was in on the prank, too!
Of course, large parts of social media were not amused by the shocking prank.
Dani and Jack would have become the third Love Island couple to tie the knot, following in suit of series 2 contestants Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen and series three stars Dom Lever and Jess Shears.
My heart is broken.
