The Egg in a Mug dish is literally as simple as it sounds, yet the family on the show were able to piece together an egg muffin that looked just like something from the McDonald’s breakfast menu.

What is the Egg in a Mug?
Err. An egg in a mug, obviously.
There really isn’t much more to the dish than one egg cracked into a mug and cooked in the microwave.
However, the experts at Eat Well for Less? seemed to develop the perfect recipe for a gooey yoke and perfectly cooked white – every time!
How to do the Egg in a Mug – Popty Ping!
Also known as the ‘Popty Ping’ breakfast for kids, you can whip up an egg muffin in under two minutes.
Step 1: Crack one single large egg into a mug
Step 2: Carefully pierce the yoke with one small prick of a knife
Step 3: Place into the microwave with a piece of kitchen paper over the top of the mug
Step 4: Microwave for 1 minute 10 seconds non-stop
Step 5: Bob’s your uncle! Place onto a muffin with your choice of spread, sauces, salads or – best yet – bacon!
What did they say on Eat Well for Less?
The family featuring on episode 1 were over the moon with how the eggs turned out.
Not only were they delicious and hailed as the “best breakfast they’d ever had” but the quick and easy method left a stress-free environment with zero pans to scrub clean.
