Who plays Lisa Dingle on Emmerdale?
Emmerdale’s Lisa Dingle was played by 67-year-old actress Jane Cox.
Jane played Lisa Dingle for over 23 years having joined the cast back in 1996.
Asides from her role on Emmerdale, the soap actress has appeared on Coronation Street and The Bill.
Why was Lisa Dingle killed off?
It was revealed earlier this year that Lisa Dingle was suffering from a terminal heart condition, meaning the character would soon be leaving the show.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Jane revealed that it was her decision to leave the soap, citing the show’s hectic filming schedule as big reason behind her leaving.
She explained to the newspaper: “It is long, long days and then you don’t have time in the evening because you have lines to learn for the next day,”.
Speaking about her decision to part ways with Emmerdale the actress said: “Life is such an exciting thing, you never know what is around the corner. It was a big decision but I know it is the right thing,”.
Will Jane Cox be on any other TV shows?
Sadly it appears that Lisa Dingle will be Jane Cox’s final television acting role.
In her interview with the Daily Mirror, the actress explained that she hopes stepping away from the limelight will give her the chance to explore “other things in life”.
