Julian and Becca
We were first introduced to Julian as he opened up about his passion for football coaching.
The 29-year-old explained that he wanted to use sport as a gateway to keep teenagers out of trouble, ensuring they didn’t fall down the same troublesome path as he did in his youth.
Julian’s date was 26-year-old property developer Becca, who was a self-confessed “party girl” that lived by that classic on-a-mug mantra ‘work hard, play harder’.
She’d come a long way since the days of band camp…
First Impressions Count
In typical First Dates fashion, Becca described her perfect date before glancing over at Julian to see an identical version of her description.
I would like someone with some swag, a part bad boy. Like, if he turned up with a flat peak cap and something really edgy, I’d be like ‘yeah boy’.
Isn't the best part of #Firstdates when they're sat at the bar describing their perfect date and the camera shows exactly that kinda person 😍

The pair continued to click over dinner after both admitting that they were on the level of “medium” at Nandos – a match made in heaven!
Julian’s Inspiring Battle with Cancer
Initially, First Dates fans thought that Julian was just being a bit of a chump when he declined Fred Sirieix’s request to take off his hat when entering the restaurant.
However, Julian went on to explain that he was diagnosed with cancer a year ago, where doctors gave him just 12 months to live.
He had a tumour removed from his head, leaving scaring and a slight bald patch.
Not that Becca noticed in the slightest!
I’m slowly getting to the point where I have the confidence to take my hat off.

The 29-year-old showed tremendous bravery when explaining his new outlook on life, confessing that wanted to live the remainder of his life with positive thoughts.
Winning over the British public in the process, Julian proved himself a true First Dates hero.
Also just to clarify my appearance on #FirstDates isn’t to try to make a claim to fame, Its mainly to inspire people & to show them that no matter what your going through in life, there is always a way to overcome it and also to never give up. ✌🏼& ❤️ people!!
