There’s nothing better than a good dating show to sit down to and you’re never really short of them nowadays.
From Celebs Go Dating to First Dates, the nation is clearly a fan of a good love story.
But rather than dating traditionally, having to make small talk across a table, why not date and dance at the same time?
Leader of dance troupe Diversity, Ashley Banjo, brings us Flirty Dancing where he helps couples find love through their passion for dance.
Here’s everything you need to know about Flirty Dancing!
When Does Flirty Dancing Start?
The dancing and dating show kicks off Thursday, January 10th.
Flirty Dancing will air on Channel 4 at 10 pm.
The show will be on for five weeks and is presented by Diversity leader, Ashley Banjo.

I’m so excited for my brand new show ‘Flirty Dancing’ to be hitting @channel4 from Thursday 10th January 🙌🏽 I worked so hard on this throughout one of the best summers of my life 😎☀️ The concept is simple… Can two single people who’ve never met find chemistry with each other, if they see each other for the first time, dance a routine together that they’ve been taught separately and never exchange a word in the process?… If the answer is yes they can then choose to go on a more ‘traditional’ date to see how far things can really go. But will they both decide to turn up? The way they dance, the way they look at one another, the way they touch etc all plays a part… A bit of old school romance ☺️ One of my favourite concepts ever! Don’t miss it! #filrtydancing #newshow
How Does the Show Work?
Flirty Dancing sees Ashley Banjo teach dance enthusiasts one half of a dance routine.
Ashley Banjo said to Channel 4: “You don’t even quite know where you’ll meet them, but you’ll bump into somebody. You’ll hear the music start to play that you’ve been rehearsing to for a week, but the person that you’re dancing with, it’s the first time you’ve ever seen them, and you have a few minutes to dance with that person, to do a choreographed routine.”
Once the dance is over, the daters then decide if they’d like to go on a conventional date.
Hopefully, by this point, Ashley and his team have done enough to set sparks flying between the singletons.
What Happens in Episode 1?
In episode 1 of Flirty Dancing Ashley introduces us to the singletons including senior events manager Hannah and e-commerce manager James, and graphic designer Luke and civil servant Dan.
Ashley will run through the rules of the show which include no speaking being allowed during the dance and after the routine is finished the dancers must part silently.
The daters will then decide separately whether they want to see each other again for a date.
