Mo Farah is one of 10 contestants to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! series 20, viewers are wondering if he’s vegan.
I’m A Celebrity is certainly not a show for the squeamish, or anyone who likes life’s luxuries. Beans, rice and a night’s sleep on a thin mattress? Most would rather not partake, but for 10 celebrities, the ITV show has got some kind of appeal.
Fussy eaters probably wouldn’t have the best of times at Gwrych Castle, but by the looks of things Mo’s not one of them.
What is Mo’s favourite food?
During I’m A Celebrity‘s opening episode, the celebrities got acquainted with one another. Towards the end of episode 1 they sat down for their first meal together – rice, beans and rabbit.
At mealtime, Vernon asked Mo: “What do you treat yourself to when you’ve done a race?“
Mo confessed that he has a sweet tooth and said that his favourite food is a sticky toffee pudding with hot custard!

Mo Farah: Quorn advert
In 2013 Mo became the face of Quorn’s vegetarian protein products. He appeared in many TV adverts for the brand.
This has led to many I’m A Celebrity viewers thinking that Mo is vegetarian. However, that’s not the case.
Mo’s marketing deal with Quorn ended in 2017, but, as many viewers expressed on Twitter, it still feels like Mo dietary requirements are veggie.
Is Mo Farah vegan?
Although Mo was the face of vegetarian and vegan food brand Quorn for some time, he actually isn’t vegan or vegetarian!
During the camp’s first dinner Mo was asked if he wanted to eat the head of the rabbit. He politely declined, but the fact that there was talk of the rabbit head being eaten is enough to show that Mo’s not a vegan.
Although Sir Mo isn’t vegan, he does have to have his meals prepared Halal as he is a Muslim. According to The Mirror: “He can’t eat certain food unless it’s prepared in the correct way according to his religion.”
The Olympic athlete is said to eat healthily, with his diet including tuna, chicken, pasta, salad, vegetables and rice. As reported by Sweat Elite, Mo “tends to space out small meals throughout the day rather than consume breakfast, lunch and dinner“.
