Love Island last night: 5 random things you definitely missed!

Episode 28 (Thursday 5th July) of Love Island saw yet another recoupling, although this time there was a massive twist.

Couples Adam Collard and Darylle Sargeant, Megan Barton-Hanson and Alex Miller, and Sam Bird and Ellie Jones received the least votes from the public.

It was then up to singletons Georgia Steel and Wes Nelson to pick anyone they fancied from those six to recouple with.

Wes snatched Megan back to save her from eviction while heartbroken Georgia decided that Sam and his eyebrows would keep her entertained – at least for now!

Amid the chaos, however, here are five random things you definitely missed!

1. Wes Nelson in Glasses

We’ve never really seen Wes rocking a pair of glasses until now.

He returned from Casa Amor only to find that 2017’s Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of The Year, Alex Miller, had nabbed his bird.

So what did our Wes do? He popped on a fresh pair of unprescribed glasses and won Megan Barton-Hanson back in a flash.

What a hero!

2. Georgia Steel’s Double Tap

Newly singleton Georgia Steel was thrust back into the game by producers when she was allowed to go on a dating spree.

During her date with Jack Fowler – Laura Anderson’s man – she reached in for a peck on the lips as the date came to a close.

Georgia then reached in for another kiss adding “I ain’t here to take the easy route.”

The classic double-tap kiss – you little minx, G!

3. Samira Hit the Nail on the Head

Episode 28 (Thursday 5th July) did seem a little stupid and bizarre, even by Love Island standards.

The random decision to break up couples and to have them recouple, while binning off the rest, seemed like a needless slice of drama. It also felt set up so that Wes and Meg could rekindle things.

Considering the show is supposed to be about finding love, surely this vote made a mockery of the concept, and singletons Wes or G should have been booted off!

Josh Denzel announced the news that the two single people would not be up for eviction, with Samira Mighty muttering a super-sarcastic quote under her breath.

Samira said: Oh, good for you!”

4. Sam Bird’s Bum Chat

Sam was saved at the very death by Georgia, extending his time in the villa a little longer.

And it was all thanks to his bombardment of compliments to G during their one-on-one date.

The Bird Man went in, staring at G rather gormlessly while showering her in compliments.

Mainly about her bum…

I’m not going to lie, you’ve got a good bum. I’ve looked at it for a couple of weeks now, and I don’t understand how you’ve not hit the gym yet, but your bum is still so firm. Are you doing secret squats at night?”

5. That Grace Was Randomly Crying

Clearly, we now know that Grace Wardle is in Love Island for the £50,000 prize money.

Randomly, she cut a teary-eyed and distraught figure when the evicted couples were being read out.

Considering her relationship with Dr Alex George is about as romantic as two planks of wood rubbing together, Grace could have only been hiding tears because she has her eye on the cash and a revamped hair salon.

Grace, you’ve been in the villa for like two days!
